I hope you all had a wonderful Labor Day!! Larry was off, and we enjoyed having him at home! He decide to smoke some ribs for our supper. They were really good! Dude and Aunt Jean came over, and she brought some of her delicious Sour Dough Rolls! Mary e-mailed asking for Aunt Jean's sour dough roll recipe. I honestly have never made them myself, since Aunt Jean keeps us supplied with them! I did ask her for the recipe! I hope to post it soon! I am going to find a day later in the week to make the planned Green Onion, Cheese and Sour Cream Biscuits! I am looking forward to trying these!

It was fun to eat together with our extended family. Simple recipes like these made this meal very doable on a busy Monday!

Larry's Smoked Ribs


Larry keeps the ribs pretty simple - just rubbing the meat with a bit of olive oil and giving it a sprinkle of Lawry's Season Salt. As y'all know by now, he doesn't cook anything without at least a dash of Lawry's! He smoked the ribs for about two hours, slathered on some commercially-prepared bbq sauce and smoked the ribs a bit longer. Yummy!

Georgia Cornbread Cake

I clipped this recipe several years ago from American Profile, which is a small magazine insert that come with our local newspaper, The Pontotoc Progress. It is yummy, yummy, yummy!  I love the story that accompanied the recipe and was delighted when a Google searched turned up the same article on the web! Dough Burgers

  Dough Burgers Dough burgers are popular in our neck of the woods. Phillips Grocery in Oxford has received national acclaim for their top-secret-recipe dough burger. I ate two while I was staying at the hospital with my dad recently! It is the nearest restaurant!  When Larry and I were newlyweds and living in New Albany, we loved going to Latham’s for their yummy version of this delicious sandwich. Several other area cities also offer well-known versions of this unique burger.
